Precious Consequences by Tamsyn Bester

All it took was one night to change the rest of my life.

One night that created irrevocable consequences.

But some consequences aren’t all bad.

They can be amazing…beautiful… Precious.

I willingly accepted those consequences and wrote a new plan for my life. But that plan didn’t include Cameron Argent – the sexy-as-sin tattooed playboy who got under my skin the moment I laid eyes on him. I was headed down a dark and dangerous road where he was concerned and in the end, our relationship was inevitable. Despite our dark secrets, our feelings for each other burned brighter than a thousand stars and left us both naked, vulnerable.

But when my past came rolling back into my life like a Summer storm, I wasn’t sure if his love for me was enough.
Was he prepared to deal with the consequences of a past I couldn’t regret or would he walk away with my beating heart in his hands?

This book was given to me for an honest review.

Thus is the first time I read this author and I have to say it is well worth the read.  I loved the story line.  It shows that life happens and so do mistakes, but this mistakes sometimes end up the best thing that happens to us.  Hayley is a very strong herion and that what was needed for this book.  The strength of this girl to overcome the obstacles, that yes she may have caused, helped her become a stronger woman.  Cameron, even though he was portrayed as a bad boy, really wasn't.  For being a ladies man, his heart was only meant to be with one.  I think that made it so much more realistic. He has a past but that is what made him a strong man also.  The secondary characters were such a supportive role in this book that I truly think they were all needed.  I loved the depth of this book and how it just flowed.  The epilogue was a great ending to this book, it truly made the book complete.

Hayley is running from a past and trying to get her life together for her daughter ari.  Going to school and supporting herself is all, she wants.  One broken down car, one gorgeous swimmer, and one heated interaction is all it takes to change plans.  Cameron is drowning in guilt for two years, but one day at a daycare center he helps a gorgeous woman in need to get to school.  What starts out as a challenge to get her in bed ends up being a fight for his heart.  With secrets that lie between them and people that to destroy their happiness will they find their happily ever after?

This author has told a great love story and I am very glad I got to read this author.  I hope to read more from her.

Beneath The Surface by Miranda Rae Carter

Beneath The Surface
Miranda Rae Carter
Adolescence hasn’t been fun for Liss Lawrence. And after a year in Vancouver, when she’s finally adjusted to her new situation, a freak car accident sends her life spinning out of control and crashing into the world of the malions, a hidden race silently helping humanity from secret enclaves underground.

Liss’s knowledge of the malions endangers her family when Jaredsons Securities takes an interest in her accident. Few know the men of Jaredsons Securities, an international intelligence company specializing in missing persons cases, are actually the Vykhars, ancient malion enemies whose true purpose is the eradication of the malion race. The Vykhars will stop at nothing to discover if Liss is connected with the malions, and if they do, they will exploit her.

Perhaps more dangerous still are Liss’s growing feelings for Rion, a strong-willed malion scarred by his encounters with Vykhars and carrying a secret that could destroy their relationship. But Liss has a secret and scars of her own, and Rion’s fiercely protective nature threatens to tear them back open.

Can this pair of unlikely lovers survive the dangers of the Vykhars? And can their love survive their own misconceptions?

My Honest Thoughts
I give this book five out of five stars

I am a huge fan of paranormal romance books and though I am a mother of three I do so enjoy reading books aimed at young adults as well. I found this book entertaining and it is a book that I am going to be letting my daughter read as well. I was a little confused right at first when I began the book, but once I really got into the book any questions I had were all answered.
Lissa reminds me a lot of a friend of mine so it was easy to identify with her character. When someone has been put through a lot of crap in their short life it is just easy to be closed off from people and it takes A LOT to trust people. I think Carter did an amazing job at making the character so easy to understand, at least from my point of view. As far as Lissa’s sister and her friend, I think everyone knows many teenagers that are that selfish. I would like to think that they grew up a lot but it is highly doubtful as a lot of people that are this way tend to never grow out of acting as though they should be treated better than everyone else and they should always come first.
Rion is sweet in his own way and the love he has for Lissa is real. I think the fact that he is so loyal to his family as well as to Lissa is something you just do not see much anymore. I loved the action and the romance that was associated with Rion. Though he did seem to get mad easily, I think it is just a guy thing and something I did not dwell on. I will admit there were a few times where I rolled my eyes on his overreacting, but then again Lissa had her share of the same thing.

All in all I would love to see this book in a series where we can find out more about Rion’s family, especially his brother. I thought this was a good book and it was an enjoyable read. Great job Miranda Rae Carter!

Bring On The Heat by Katie Rose

House-sitting for a rich and famous friend has its perks, and Darcy Hamel isn’t shy about enjoying them. Especially when it means scoring a ticket to an exclusive fashion show hosted by the New Jersey Sonics. An avid baseball fan, Darcy has always dreamed of meeting the team—especially the starting pitcher whose body is as hot as his fastball. But there’s a catch. The gala is by invitation only. To get behind the velvet rope, mild-mannered Darcy will have to pose as party girl Lydia Logan.

Schmoozing is one of the downsides of fame, but Chase Westbrook knows how to liven up even the dullest event. And nothing spices a night up more than a beautiful socialite with a naughty reputation. What Chase doesn’t expect is a hint of sweetness beneath her sultry façade. Flirtation turns to seduction and leaves him aching for more. Chase just doesn’t know who the real Lydia is: the spoiled tease crying foul over some missing diamonds or the alluring woman making a play for his heart.

This book was given to me for an honest review.

This is a cute beach read.  Its fast paced and it is very entertaining.  I loved chase in this book.  One he's an athlete and that always gets my attention and second he is true to who he is.  They are always positive attributes.  Darcy was a great herion.  Although she was a little timid at the beginning her character really grew throughout the book.  I want to include lydia also, because she may be the spoiled rich girl but her character was well played in the book.  Being that it was a very cute read I just felt it was a little predictable and felt I knew what was going to happen throughout the book.  The characters are memorable and loved them, but I wished there was a little more.

Lydia wants to go away with a price, so her house sitter darcy has been drafted to her favorite teams fundraiser to replace lydia. Darcy doesn't mind because she gets to meet the sonics and pretends to be a socialite all in one.  One night becomes more than just a dream, she meets chase and the hit off.  Only problem is that he thinks she's lydia.  How do you explain things when it gets so involved and you can't back down? When will lydia come back and will she ruin everything?  Can this last forever?

This author is very good and I hope to read more from her.

Entwined (The Life of Anna, Part 2) by Marissa Honeycutt

Title: Entwined (The Life of Anna, Part 2)
Author: Marissa Honeycutt
Genre: Very Dark Paranormal Erotica
Publication Date: October 29, 2014

Anna has two masters, one she hardly knows, but who makes her feel safe, the other she's known all her life and says he needs her.
Alex wants her to be free.
Devin demands her obedience.
As Anna takes her first steps into the world, into love, into friendship, she wonders if she will ever understand either of them.

There is a subculture within our own world that you’ve only heard whispers of. The conspiracy theorists wish they knew Anna’s story. What the conspiracy theorists think they know is only put out there to keep them from the real story.

This is not a stand-alone novel. This is the second of five novels that tell Anna’s story.

This book is for grown-ups. This book is not for people who are easily offended, get nightmares easily, or have difficulty reading books about tough subjects. I do not glorify bad things, but bad things do happen to my poor characters. This is not your typical love story. My heroine does not fall in love and live happily ever least not like the typical heroine. There is a happily ever after, but it is a long, painful journey to that end.
Anna’s story is told in five, novel-length books.
This book will likely offend you. This book might make you cry; it might make you throw up. It is a dark book. As my friend, Heidi, said, “It’s dark. It gets darker. It gets even darker, and then it gets even more darker. And then, just when you think it can’t get any darker, it does.”
But, don’t worry. I take you to the deep end gradually. ;)
There are many sexual situations in this series of books. People die. People get hurt. Things aren’t always truly the way they appear to be. The antagonist isn’t just a bad guy; he’s EVIL. My heroine’s worldview is skewed; things that may appall you are perfectly normal to her.
Any violence in this book is non-gratuitous and crucial to the plot and character development.
Do not read this if you are under the age of consent in your country. Do not get angry if the subject or actual book upsets you. If you're reading this, you've been warned.

This book series is about a sex slave. Therefore, there is sex in it. Lots of sex (though I took a bunch out. lol). Other disclaimers: Physical abuse, emotional abuse, physical torture, sexual torture, rape, death, violence, violent rape, gang rape, anal sex, regular sex, violent sex, violent anal sex, sex with non-sexual objects, sex with sexual objects, m/f, m/m, f/f, m/f/m, orgies, bloody scenes, disturbing scenes, scenes that might make you throw up or cry, scenes that make my characters throw up and cry, mindfucks, cursing, drug use, multiple snuff scenes, disturbing rituals, manipulation, brain-washing, people in disturbing situations (duh!), imperfect heroes and evil antagonists doing evil things.

Enslaved: The Life of Anna, Part 1

Marissa's story of Anna began with a dream about being kidnapped with Adam Savage from Mythbusters (Yes, really). Over the next year and a half, it morphed into the story you will be reading soon. She has several other stories in progress, one of which is based on her kidnapped dream.

When she's not writing or editing, Marissa is taking care of two young boys, training to be an astronaut, running her household, wrestling with gorillas, playing around on Facebook, promoting whirled peas, and busting her tush for her accounting degree. She enjoys chocolate, air conditioning in the desert's summer heat, really good strawberry margaritas, sleeping, and shopping.

At thirteen, her family moved to Alabama and as the years turned into several, she traveled to many countries around the world, including the Middle East. She fell 'in love' with love at a young age and continues to believe that love really does conquer all...or at least leave her blessedly happy by the end of a book. She adores alpha males...the my-way-or-the-highway-take-no-prisoners kind of heroes, especially when they screw up and land themselves in 'hot water' with the heroines. Her husband of ten years is her personal hero, forging a path of true love along the road called life.
