To start i want to tell you, this a dark series. If you dont like to read about abuse, suicide, or depression this is not a good book for you.
I like this book better than the first. The writind was better, and the chapters weren't as drawn out as in the first. She has used he knowledge of certain things to make the descriptions very real. This book makes you stop and think what you can, could've, or should do everyday.
I really dont think it is necessary for the half chapters. Some of them i didn't even feel needed to be part of it. When devon and emily talk they seem to say i love you over and over again. We realize they are soulmates but it sems to be shoved in your reading every other paragraph.
In this installment you find out what happens after the accident. What laceyhas to go on with her life and to get back to evan. Finally she lets go of cain and well he doesnt take that well. Devon which is studying to be a doctor finds lacey and well thats how their romance starts. Its slow and sweet how devon takes care of her. So sge finally gets a divorce and eventually marries devon. Thats where the story starts to get very interesting. There is tons of drama with laceys mom, cain, and even with lacey. You have to read it to get the whole picture. There is a cliffhanger at yhe end, And if you Iike cliffhangers its a,good one.
I will be waiting for the next installment to see what happen. Its a good read. 3.5 stars
Author L.U. Ann moved to Colorado from the Eastern Shore of Maryland with her husband and two children. Life in Colorado is so much different. In Maryland, you would find her in the garden tending to her vegetables and flowers, sea glass and shark tooth hunting once a week, and enjoying the kids swimming in the backyard. Her life took a drastic change when her family moved to their own “Little House on the Prairie" at an elevation of over 6,000 feet above sea level, and a semi-arid climate that makes it hard to grow anything. While barely anything can grow where she resides now, the wildlife makes up for it. Mountain Lions, and coyotes, and rattlesnakes, oh my! She tries to spend a little time each day writing, but domestic chores around the house usually take precedence. She would much rather hide them from her husband. She tends to her loving four-legged children who at times become much too demanding when she locks herself in the office. This often results in MORE domestic work, and she finds herself cleaning up after their deviant behavior. At night, you’ll find her begging the kids to go to bed so that she can catch up on the latest book before her sister can. Yes, she is an avid reader who escapes her chaotic but wonderful home to the feisty depths of romance land in search of her newest book boyfriend. Shh, don’t tell her husband. She is an artist by the grace of God. She worked as a set designer for six years, helping establish a local children's theatre where she was the scenery artist, set, and prop designer. Before that, you would find her covered in paint, so engrossed in painting a mural that time didn't exist. Graphic design is her guilty pleasure. Destructive Choices is the second book in The Destructive Series. Each book will hit its reader with lots of angst hoping for a happily ever after.

I was given this book for an honest review.
This is my first time i read l.u. ann and i think she is a good author. She is very descriptive and its a very believable story. The characters are well written and i do enjoy her secondary characters. What i didnt enjoy is that sometimes it is overly drawn out and it felt sometimes that she kept retelling the same things in different chapters. I think there is a lot of information sometimes and not enough of the story.
This book is a cliffhanger, just to forwarn you. It is also about domestic violence and so if either of those bother you, you should not read this book.
Lacey is a wholesome chatacter, a good girl, that ends up with a bad guy. Cain is a true a$$hole and i would absolutely kill this man if i ever met him. He puts lacey through hell and back and thinks if he says he loves her it makes it all better. I dont know how much to tell you but its dark in some areas and well i will be reading the next book. I recommend giving the book a chance because it is worth a read.
