My uncle raped me. I was 10 years old when it started. At 13 he told me I was no longer wanted because I had started to develop. At 16 I was ready to kill him. Today, I’m broken. Today, I only breathe to survive. My name’s Sergeant Major Ryan Jenkins and today, I’m ready to tell you my story.

“Master would flog me if I did, she won’t be happy when I tell her what happened here.” “Master?” “Stella.” Oh, Master.

Yes, Master Cover

“It’s just such a difficult situation.” “Of course it’s difficult.” She stops talking and taps her fingernails again. My eyes go to where she’s tapping, and then follow up to her face. I try to avoid her abrasive orbs. “You’re overpowered by agony and torment, and it’s slowly claiming you day by day.” I finally concede and look into Stella's eyes. Because every word she’s said, and every sentence that she’s breathed out has been so accurate about me. “Freedom,” she says as I intake a huge gulp of air at that word. “I can promise you freedom if you can promise me you’ll never lie to me.” Fuck. I want it. I think I may even deserve my very own happily ever after. Are they real? According to movies and books they’re attainable. But this isn’t a movie, or even a fucking book. This is my life. And I’m going to try to get it. “No lies, ever,” I whisper.

I don't do 'normal'. I've found that the more I write, the more I like being different to other authors. I write in first person, and I love to challenge a reader. I take the normal and switch it around. For me, I really enjoy getting a reaction from a reader. So if I can evoke an emotion (regardless of if it's the emotion the reader wants) then I figure that I've done my job as an author I want to be. I really quite revel in taking people out of their comfort zones and pushing them to read something different. My genre of writing is, well quite frankly, where ever my mind goes. I won't label myself because I don't like sticking to one genre. My goal with writing is just to take people away from whatever is going on in their lives, even if it's only for a split second. I'm a go with the flow sort of person and don't really take a course of action to get where I am going. I live in the moment and don't usually worry about tomorrow because whatever life is due to bring me, I'll be happy to accept. I love my family and friends and will help anyway I can if someone needs it. I really don't like people that are nasty just because they can be, I don't believe that's necessary, I mean life's hard enough as it is! I hope you enjoy my books, I've had a hoot writing them. There's more to come..... Til next time. M xx

Leave your inhibitions at the door…and turn the page.

New Orleans’s Hotel Beaudelaire isn’t just a critically acclaimed 5-star establishment. For New Year’s Eve, it becomes a Den of Sin, and its owner extends invitations to a few discriminating guests to help make their sexual fantasies come true.

REDEEMING THE AMAZON SUMMARY

Most come to The Beaudelaire Hotel a select few times a year merely to indulge in sexual fantasy, but the stakes are higher for Karen Freeman and Paul Beaudelaire this New Year’s weekend. Karen is nine years post-op from a double mastectomy, and her vain ex-husband hadn’t agreed with her decision to remove her remaining good breast or to eschew reconstruction. In the end, that decision cost her. She lost her marriage, but she’s certain the move has prolonged her life.

Returning to a normal dating and sex life has been difficult. She hasn’t made love fully unclothed since the demise of her marriage, and her most significant relationship occurred right after her surgery. When she was still recuperating, she had an affair of the heart with a Marine amputee who’d also been her Ph.D. classmate.

Paul Beaudelaire once led a charmed life as a ladies’ man who had his pick of women in the upper echelons of New Orleans society. He’d been satisfied to continue in that vein, until a Marine recruiter wooed him from LSU with tales of valor, courage, and commitment. His career in the corps cut short by the loss of his left leg, Paul returned to New Orleans with the best prosthesis Johns Hopkins orthopedics experts could fit him with. The problem was, he’d left his heart in Baltimore with a beautiful former model, whose crippled marriage was the only deterrent to his waning honor. Will this fantasy weekend at his Uncle Henri's hotel give him a second chance with his contemporary Amazon, or will her fear of rejection be a barrier to their reconnection?

REVIEW by Estella
Story:
Steam:

I received this book for an honest review.

I wasn't real sure what to expect going into this book. This book is a great story about how you might see yourself as flawed but others don't see you the same. Karen felt she was flawed after being a supermodel and now after losing her breast to cancer. She felt like no one would want her like she somehow didn't deserve to be loved as a woman. Alone came Paul and proved to her that she was still all woman and very desirable.

This book touched close to home. I to share some of Karen's insecurities but for different reasons than hers. This book gives me hope that there is a Paul somewhere for me! I recommend that you give this book a read! Now I have to go and read the others in the Den of Sin series!

THE SERIES IN ITS ENTIRETY:

On December 6 the authors of the Den of Sin Series invited you to indulge in a new erotica or erotic romance novella each Friday until December 27. Each had a different couple (or trio) and different kinks:

December 6: Forbidden Rendezvous by Mel Blue
Seraphina orchestrates fantasies, but this year she’ll create one of her own. It’s against the rules for an employee to participate in the weekend-long sex-capade but she’s willing to risk it for Luke. The man’s a mystery, but in a sea of CEOs and Fortune 500 billionaires, he stands out. His past and connection to her boss is clouded in intrigue, but she knows what he wants, and she plans to star in one of his voyeuristic fantasies.

December 13: Ménage à Troys by Holley Trent
At the Den of Sin anything goes, so instead of two newlyweds letting down their guards to finally consummate their marriage of convenience, three people desperate to be touched forge bonds. That’s all well and good for the weekend, but what will shake out of their tentative ménage à trois when it’s time to go home?

December 20: Wicked Surrender by Ambrielle Kirk
Kris is tired of spending her nights playing with hard plastic and silicone. She wants a real man for a night, and expects to find him at the Den of Sin. She doesn’t expect to meet one of the World’s Most Eligible Bachelors there, and this isn’t the first time she’s met him. Unfortunately, Travis Brenden doesn’t seem to remember her.

December 27: Redeeming the Amazon by L. V. Lewis
Karen hasn’t made love fully unclothed since her double mastectomy and the subsequent demise of her marriage. Her most significant relationship occurred right after her surgery when she connected with a former Marine, amputee classmate. Paul once left his heart in Baltimore with a beautiful former model, whose crumbling marriage was the only deterrent to his waning honor. A fantasy weekend at his uncle’s hotel may give him a second chance with his contemporary Amazon…if her fear of rejection doesn’t become a barrier to their reconnection.

EXCERPT - REDEEMING THE AMAZON:

“What just happened? We were in a good place until all of a sudden, we weren’t.”
She shrugged like a gawky, inexperienced teen, afraid to go all the way with the boy she liked she wasn’t sure would still like her in the morning. He hated that the cancer had done this to her. Robbed her of her confidence.
“Karen, I would never hurt you.”
She smiled. He’d been going for intimacy, for sincerity, but apparently his heartfelt declaration struck her as funny.
“You know I won’t take advantage if you let me in,” he said, giving her a glimpse of his own vulnerability. This was as much about him as it was about her. Then he realized this statement was innuendo-laden as well, when her grin broadened.
“Exactly how do I know this?”
He would not let a moment of levity steal the inroads he was determined to make. “Because you know I’ve been where you are, even though on the surface it looks like I’ve dealt with and overcome all my issues with body image. Will you take a chance and go places with me intimately that you haven’t with anyone else?” He hoped like hell she could trust him. She hadn’t backed out when she found out he was her partner for the weekend, so there had to be something to her acceptance.
“How cunning. You knew the one thing—the only thing—that makes living inside our imperfections so difficult. I’m not surprised you get it.”
She smiled that same smile he saw in his fantasies. The one that says more than her words. She squinted, and laugh lines seemed to appear from nowhere. There was no guile or arrogance in it, just the tentative smile of a woman who was once very self-assured and was again trying it on for size.
It was that smile Paul had responded to first, before he’d discovered other interesting things as he’d continued to watch her. The way she walked with such grace, one might believe she was floating. The way she saw through bullshit as if she had a built in meter for it. Even his. The intensity with which she viewed life was even atypical, a study in contradictions for one who’d stared death in the face and made it back down.
“If we do this your way, I’ll have one rule.”
Desperation made him reckless. “Anything.”
“The lights must be off.”
“Except that…” He stood and paced. “Karen, we’re supposed to leave our inhibitions at the door.”
“Okay. Suppose I were to blindfold you instead?”
He stopped in his tracks and smiled involuntarily. “That sounds promising, but if we get any kinkier than that, we might have to change floors.”
“Let’s just get the mechanics down now, shall we?”
“That doesn’t sound particularly sexy.”
Her expression challenged him. “I’m going to make you rue that statement before this weekend is over.”

“Game on,” he said.

The Priestess of Morengard by Jenna Wood

Title: The Priestess of Morengard
Author: Jenna Wood
Genre: Fantasy/Adventure/Romance
Publication Date:October 18, 2013
Cover Artist: Bryan Wood

Two rulers. One kingdom. For hundreds of years Morengard has been divided in such a way. Together, the King and Priestess have coexisted peacefully, each playing the part they have been given as decreed by the Ancient Dictum.

However, the king’s own son, Talis, questions it and when the foolhardy prince decides to take matters into his own hands, he finds himself faced with the dark truth behind the Dictum. Unprepared for the devastation he unleashes, the prince must fight to uncover the secrets behind the ancient decree with the help of a reclusive spinster.

But as Talis attempts to piece together the puzzle, he finds his endeavor threatened. Not only by that which seeks to end his life, but by an ill-fated love that reveals all too late that the gods have a hand in everything.

Born in Arizona, I live with my husband (he is also my extremely talented cover artist), two dogs, and four cats. Since a very young age, I have loved to write. Through the years I have written poems, short stories, and full length novels. My subjects tend to lean towards the darker side with themes dealing with betrayal, murder, war, and madness. My genre has been primarily fantasy, with a YA series being the majority of my work. I have just recently dipped my toe into the adult fantasy romance arena with my latest novel, The Priestess of Morengard.

Excerpt

There was a scraping sound and footsteps. They stopped before the door but after a moment, it still remained closed. Holding the wound in his side, he managed one more knock.
“Please,” he whispered into the crack of the door. “Please open the door. I’m wounded. Please.”
Silence.
“Please.”
He could hardly manage to speak as the edge of his consciousness went fuzzy and black. His vision darkened as he struggled to remain upright. Then there was the click of a latch and light filtered through the widening crack. He couldn’t see the person’s face, but it didn’t matter.
“Help me,” he whispered and his strength was gone. His knees buckled and the world went dark.

Excerpt

The girl smiled at Renna, “I am the soothsayer, the all seer. I know that which has yet to happen and that which has. I see beyond all to the ends that may or may not be.”
“So you know how this ends?” Talis asked. “You know if I succeed or fail, if my kingdom is returned.”
The girl looked at him with such an expression that he was unable to discern his venture’s end.
Instead, the girl said, “This is your journey to take, Talis. Though you may have your company, it is ultimately your own. Each step you take, each decision you come to, has the capability of altering your journey in an infinite number of ways. Whether you decide to turn left or right will determine your fate and the fate of your kingdom. I cannot tell you what the outcome of your journey holds, for it has not yet come to pass. And that which has not yet come to pass might still be altered by each action you take.”

Story:

I was given this book for an honest review.

I didn't know what to expect from Braxton cole since this is my first time reading her books, but I enjoyed her book. I like her writing and she is very descriptive and detailed. If you are looking to read a quick, erotic story with a little storyline this is a book to read. What I did not enjoy was that it is extremely short and well I'm one that likes a full novel that fulfills all the storylines and gibes closure on everything.

The story starts on a racetrack with roni undercover. You also meet matteo at tbe racetrack and well it heats up quickly. Now to let you know the story is fast paced and can't give you many details, but I will tell you it does intice you in the first couple of pages to continue reading.

So if you enjoy fast paced quick reads this the book for you. I am glad I got the chance to read this book.

Three and half stars.

Braxton Cole lives in the Pacific Northwest where she spends most of her time holed up in her office writing stories. When she's not writing, she can be found riding her bike, hiking the fabulous local trails, chasing her kids, or wishing that her thumb was a little more green. She has a bad habit of killing what she tries to grow, but hasn't given up hopes of one day being a successful urban farmer.
Braxton writes erotic romance because romance is the stuff that makes life great, and sex is fun. The two belong together, both in life and in fiction.

Like no other woman in his life, Olivia challenges him with her strong will and sharp sense of humor, making him wonder if she could ever become a willing captive of his dominance. Review by Katie
10 STARS!!!!!!Oh my goodness I love this book!!! I was hooked from the beginning and couldn’t put it down until the last word. Ethan is an Irish hunk that is very desirable, but struggles with his temper. Olivia is a woman with a battered and bruised heart, not sure if she can open it back up to someone new, no matter how desirable he is. This book was full of emotion and drove me insane. I wanted to scream at Ethan and Olivia and throw my e-reader across the room. They had moments of pure love and connection full of vulnerability and then moments of utter stupidity and insecurity. I was up and down and on the edge of my seat; basically all over the emotional wave chart all the way until the end. I really enjoyed Tricia Daniels’ writing and can’t wait until her next book to see what’s going to happen. Thank you Tricia for writing and sharing with us such a beautiful and soulful love story that truly makes you believe in soul mates.

About the Author
Tricia Daniels lives in a small town in Southern Ontario, Canada, where she raised three kids as a single parent. Creativity and imagination is something there is never a short supply of in her home. Between her quick wit and wicked sense of humor she found that she has a passion for writing steamy romance novels. Her goal is simple, tell her story, warm a few hearts, shed a few tears, share a silent chuckle, and occasionally, make people blush.
That's the official version. But the simple truth is... I'm just a normal woman, struggling to pay the bills and trying to raise my kids in a home where they feel empowered, supported and loved. I'd like to say that the story came to me with a gentle persuasion...but oh no! This story hit me like a full on tackle from behind and there were no foul flags thrown by the referee. Here's a little something unusual about me, well at least I think so... I'm not an author. My friends laugh when I say that. I have never aspired to write the next great love story or take the literary world by storm. I'm just a girl, who woke up from a dream with characters, scenes and a story in my head that was tied to such powerful emotions I couldn't settle until I wrote them down to get them out of my brain. This story would have never been shared with any of you if it wasn't for very good friends, who continue to try and convince me that I have a gift. Who knew? Definitely not me.
