Treason is only the beginning…

The past holds the key…

Clouded memories and forgotten truths hold the answer to saving the team. Can Derac face the gruesome nightmare in time?

A grudge can only wait for so long…

Excerpt:

The blonde in blue floated her way to Rakan and sat down in his lap with a giggle. Jardel got a bouncy brunette to land in his lap. Derac was not paying attention and the other blonde in red planted herself on his knees. His head snapped up to look at her.

"Long journey, Warrior?" she purred.

Derac set his face in a grim line. He put his hands on her waist, picked her up and put her on her feet. "I'm not interested, but thank you for the offer."

She pouted and slowly walked away, swinging her hips. Derac sighed and returned to looking at the ceiling.

"That was not very nice," Vivian pouted from Tyn's lap. "You could have at least talked to her."

Derac growled. "Look, while I'm flattered that she would choose me, I am not in the mood, all right?"

"How can you not be in the mood?" Vivian said. She didn't hide her offense at his words. "Making love is the best thing in the world." She leaned her head back and laughed. Tyn planted a kiss on her collar bone. She giggled and looked at Derac daring him to prove her wrong.

Derac leaned his elbows on his knees and put on his best charming smile. "Why would I pay a woman to be with me when I could have a warrior elf with the perfect body?" He turned his head and winked at Kie. She played along and winked back at him.

"Oh! How sinfully nice!" Vivian laughed.

Aeli looked at Kie in shock. Derac put his hands behind his head and reclined in the chair again, a smug look on his face. Tyn laughed with Vivian but Jardel and Rakan were too distracted by the girls in their laps to pay attention.

"Well, let me show you to your rooms then," Vivian said with a giggle.

She stood and took Tyn's hand and led him through the silk curtains hanging across the doorway. The group picked up their packs and followed them down the hall lined with doors covered in silk to give the appearance of having no doors at all.

Vivian opened the door to one room and Jardel and his girl fell into it with a laugh. Derac growled under his breath. The room across the hall became occupied by Rakan and his blonde.

At the next door, Vivian turned to Aeli. "I can get a man for you if you like," she smiled.

Aeli smiled. "No thanks. I'm much too tired, and I fear he would be disappointed."

As she closed the door to her room, Derac caught her rolling her eyes. He held back a smirk as they continued down the hall. She opened another door and waved her hand dramatically to both Kie and Derac.

Kie opened her mouth to protest but Derac shoved her into the room. He flashed a grin to Vivian and Tyn and kicked the door shut.

"What are you doing?" Kie whispered in a harsh tone.

He held up his hands to stop her. "I just wanted to get away from that Vivian woman. If you had protested, it would have taken longer that I would have had to deal with her."

Kie crossed her arms over her chest. "That's not the point! The whole team will know we are in the same room - in a brothel!"

"What is the problem with that? We've shared rooms before." He grinned wickedly. "We've even snuggled on the floor of a cave remember?"

Kie huffed and flopped down in the velvet covered chair in the corner. Derac cast his gaze around the room and curled his nose. Silk sheets on the four post bed. Silk on the wall. Shag red carpet and velvet seat cushions.

A knock sounded and Derac swung the door open in a wild fashion.

Tyn's eyes winkled at the corners with his large grin. "I told Vivian you two would need extra blankets. So you can make an extra bed. There are gowns in the wardrobe if you want."

"Thank you," Derac took them and shut the door again.

"At least Tyn is thinking rationally," Kie muttered. She went over to the wardrobe and swung open the doors. "Gowns? Is he serious?" She pulled out a paper thin cotton shift with no sleeves. The low cut collar and see through material made Kie gasp in shock.

Derac smirked. "I bet it's comfortable."

Kie rolled her eyes and put it back into the wardrobe. She dug around and found a cotton gown not quite so transparent.

"I guess this will have to do. I am sick of sleeping in my uniform."

"Me too but I doubt there are sleeping clothes in there for me."

"Then wear nothing. Maybe then that blonde could have an easier time of getting you in the mood." She titled her head back, the maniacal laugh bubbling from her throat.

"I told you, why pay a woman to be with me when I can have an elf with the perfect body?"

"Oh? You think I'd just bend to your advances, hmm?"

He smirked. "I know you would."

Three long strides carried him across the room. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her against him.

"Centurio…"

"I've proved my point. Look at how your breath hitches and your heart beats faster."

"Th…that's because you startled me."

He chuckled deep in his chest.

"Let's talk about you then," she said. "How your grip tightens on my waist when I try to pull away and your own heart is thundering in your chest. Or how you can't stop looking into my eyes whenever we gaze at each other. Or how badly you want to kiss me right now."

"Do you want me to kiss you?" he said, his voice husky and deep.

She swallowed hard. "Yes," she whispered.

Derac didn't hesitate and captured her lips with his. The voice in his head telling him he shouldn't kiss her was silent. The softness of her mouth drowned out all other thoughts in his head.

Her lips parted in invitation. His tongue traced the lines of her lips before plunging into her mouth. Her vanilla scent filled his nose, and he inhaled it deeply. She rose up on her toes, her body pressing closer to his. His arms tightened around her. Derac's hand roamed up her back and then gripped the back of her neck.

His mind cleared, the only thoughts were how she molded perfectly to him and the feel of her soft mouth.

Derac nipped at her bottom lip. "See? You can't resist me," he murmured.

"Hmm, more like you can't resist me. I'm the elf with the perfect body, remember?"

"Honestly, I really can't tell with your uniform on."

"Is that an order to remove my clothes, Centurio?" she whispered.

A growl rumbled deep in his throat. "Would you defy the order?"

She smiled. "I might."

I was born and raised in a small working class town in Essex, just outside of East London. I am married with three sons and in 2006 we all moved to the other side of the world, settling on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, about 50K outside of Melbourne Australia. It's a whole new way of life for us down here,we are so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world.

I am currently a stay at home mum but in the past I have worked at Marks & Spencer, as a classroom assistant/teachers aid and have run my business.

As well as writing, I love to read and have been known to get through four or five books a week. My other interests are watching my boys play football...The round ball version; I am happy to admit to being an addict of social media and I owe a lot to my Facebook and Twitter family in promoting my work; I am also rather partial to a glass... or bottle of wine, a nicely chilled Marlborough Sav Blanc being my favorite. Being a born and raised Essex girl, I will happily admit to be being a big fan of spray tans, Shellac and am regularly, waxed, tinted and sculpted, although I am more likely to be found in thongs/flipflops than a pair of white stilettos these days.

**Disclaimer: This content is unedited and subject to change** Copyright © Jessica Ingro “Fine. Bring me the damn suit,” I grumble begrudgingly. “You’re the best! You know that?” Kara kisses me chastely. Her father is still there after all. Bill laughs once Kara bolts up the stairs. “Laugh now. Next thing you know she’ll make you be my elf!” I threaten good naturedly. “I’d love to see that,” he says in between chuckles. “Ah crap!” I pull my hands through my hair, seriously wanting to throw a child-sized temper tantrum at this turn of events. “Think of it this way, son. It will be good practice for when you have kids. And you’re making those girls’ night.” “Yeah… alright. I guess I can try to look on the bright side of things,” I concede. The last thing I need is for my soon to be father-in-law to think I’m a big baby. Kara returns twenty minutes later with a giant red bag. I drag it into the bathroom and take my time changing. Part of me hopes that if I take too long the girls will fall asleep or something. Stranger things have happened. “It’s Christmas Eve, Jacob. The girls won’t want to fall asleep regardless, so don’t think you can get out of this,” Kara calls through door. How the hell does she do that? It’s worse than the eyes in the back of her head. “I’ll be out in a minute,” I yell through the door. After I velcro the giant pillow onto my belly, I turn to the side and stick my stomach out further, poking at my now enlarged gut. I roll my abdominal muscles making the pillow bounce and ripple. Chuckling at my nonsense, I step into the red, velvet pants. I pull the black suspenders over my shoulder and do a little jig watching as my stomach bounces around. Apparently this suit sucks the seriousness out of you. Maybe it’s a magic suit… I stop my musings and proceed to put the jacket on and button it up. I look damn good in red. Even with a giant stomach. Next comes the wig and beard, followed by the hat. Now I have absolutely no reason to walk out of this bathroom. Damn. Opening the door, Kara is the first thing I see. Her face lights up and she graces me with a wide smile. She lifts her arm, and then she does the unthinkable when she snaps a picture with her cell phone. “Lump of coal for you!” I shout and make like I’m going to attack her. When I lunge for her, she screeches and runs across the room. Once I catch up with her, she reaches out and rubs red shit on my cheeks. “Really?” I ask not wanting to deal with this shit. “You are so going to get lucky later,” she mumbles so only I can hear her. “Damn straight. You owe me one creative session, Sunshine.” “There is this new position I heard about that I’ve been curious to try.” “It’s a good thing this suit is big, otherwise my sister would think Santa was a giant perv. What do you think you’re doing telling me that now?” I gripe, knowing my nieces can’t sit on my lap while I’m turned on. “Sorry. I forget,” she says like that explains it all. “You’re lucky I love you.” I kiss her forehead and start towards the stairs. “Let’s get this over with.”

Excerpt
Tears form at the corner of my eyes as the full brunt of Dornan’s obsession with me becomes apparent. He left me here for this. He asked me who my ex-boyfriend was, and then proceeded to travel across the country to kidnap an innocent boy from his house. A boy who has never laid eyes on me, a boy who I found online and added to Sammi’s backstory for credibility.
A boy who kneels in front of me with a gun pointed at his head.
I struggle against Chad’s stronghold, but it is useless. The guy is built, and he’s probably been snorting the white powder with daddy all the way home.
I bite down on Chad’s hand and he pulls it away, yelling at me.
“He’s not my ex!” I scream, fighting against Chad’s rigid embrace.
Dornan looks at me like a man possessed. A man on a mission.
“I lied,” I gasp, still struggling. “I’ve never met him before. Please, just let him go.”
Dornan lowers his gun and looks me up and down. “You don’t have to be scared of him anymore,” he says. He lifts the gun, his finger putting pressure on the trigger.
“Please!” I scream.
My pleas go unheeded.
He pulls the trigger.

Excerpt
“Cassidy, I’d like to take you to dinner.”  I choke on my cappuccino and start coughing uncontrollably.  He stands up and comes back with a bottle of water.  He hands me the water as I’m getting my bearings back.  “Is it that shocking that I’d ask you to dinner?”
I’m a little dumbstruck.  “Um, well, I just, I…”
He sits down next to me, places the bottle of water he just gave me on the table and takes my hands in his.  “Cassidy, I know you felt it all those months ago.  I felt it too and I still do.  A day hasn’t passed that you haven’t crossed my mind.  There’s something here,” he motions between our bodies.
I’m looking at our hands and it’s there; the electricity.  I look up at him and a shudder has me rolling my shoulders, my heart starts racing and I clench my thighs together trying to subdue the throb between them.  Before I can say a word he’s leaning in and tucking a loose piece of hair behind my ear.  He cups my face and gently touches my lips with his own.
How many times have I fantasized about this very moment?  A million, at least.  I accept his kiss knowing that if Cecily finds out I’ll probably get canned.  Both of his hands are on my face now.  His lips are gentle and feel better than I ever dreamed.  I mold my lips to his and inhale his sweet breath.  His tongue gently runs across my upper lip.  I slide closer to him and place my hands on his lapels.  Our tongues begin a torrid dance that has my entire body standing at attention.  It’s a kiss I’ll never forget and one I never want to end.
I work my hands up his neck and to the tie holding his hair and can’t resist removing it.  I’ve been dying to run my hands through his hair since that first night I saw him.  He encourages me with a groan and starts kissing my jaw and works his way back to my ear.
“James…we should stop,” but my actions betray my words as I drag his mouth back to mine.
“Shut up, Cassidy.”
Before I know it he pulls me into his lap.  I’m not sure how he managed it.  His hand is on my hip and I can feel his erection straining against my thigh.  I feel my own hair fall from its tie, and he’s tugging on it gently.  It feels wonderful and I’m moaning into his mouth.  I’m barely aware of my phone ringing.  I slowly pull my face away from his.  “Shit.  I have to get that.”
“Cassidy, let it ring.”
“It could be Cecily,” I plead as I try to slide off his lap.  I echo his groan of disapproval.  I remain on his lap and strain to grab my phone.  I look at the number and I don’t recognize it.  I send it to voicemail.  “I don’t know the number.  If it’s important they’ll leave a message.”
I toss the phone down on the couch beside us.  I feel his arms tighten around me.  I need to get closer to him so I reposition myself.  I straddle his lap as his mouth assaults mine.  I help him out of his jacket as he starts fumbling with the buttons on my blouse.  He rolls his hips and hits my core just right and my stomach drops.  I moan into his mouth and pull his shirt out of his pants.
“You like that,” he whispers in my mouth as he continues rolling and grinding his hips into me.  I’m clinging to him now and sucking his ear.  “You’re making me wild Cassidy.”
“Oh God, I’ve dreamed of this, of you for so long.”
“Fucking hell, I’m so sorry.”  We’ve been caught in the act.
Red-handed.
I jump off his lap and he’s up almost as quick and is shielding me with his body.  I peek around his shoulder and see Lena and a security guard standing in the doorway.

I’m a stay-at-home mom with four young children and one extremely supportive husband.  We’ve been married for nine years and reside in Highland, Michigan.
I've dreamed of writing romance novels since I was little. After having baby #4, who may or may not have been fathered by Christian Grey, I decided it was time to pursue my dreams.
When I'm not volunteering at the schools of my children, running to various appointments, enjoying time with my friends and my book club, dating my husband, or avoiding cleaning my house, I'm writing!
I love music and believe that books and music can't exist without the other.  My goal is for you to read more than a good book, but for you to have an experience!
